Immersion in the Artistic Landscape depicts a figure curiously interacting with a strange substance; she timidly feels and explores it, taking parts of it and collecting it on her back until she becomes weighed down and sinks, submerging into the substance and therefore becoming a part of it. The last shot is of another person stepping up to the ‘goop’ to symbolize the continuing cycle.

The work explores the immersive nature of the artistic landscape. An artist learns experiences and skills from a long history of other artists and by creating they also contribute. Gradually the artist becomes a part of a landscape for others to learn from.
