I am a contemporary artist living on the Sunshine Coast on Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi Country. My main medium is paper carvings; I cut and peel away layers of thick paper board to create intricate, low relief artworks; then build up the works with shellac and inks to create lush, textural surfaces. I also use light to reveal semi transparent layers.

The resulting work is characterised by naturalistic, rippling patterns. I am influenced by the Romantic and Sublime movements drawing parallels between the natural environment and the cerebral.

I studied the Diploma in Visual Art and Contemporary Craft with South Bank TAFE, completed 2010; then I apprenticed at Artis Pura Picture Framing and completed a Certificate 3 in Picture Framing in 2014; I graduated the Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2017 and then Honours of Arts and Design in 2018 at University of Canberra. Since 2019 I have continued exhibiting and working at Museum of Brisbane as a Visitor Experience Officer.

This is an occupation that cannot exist without a community to support it. I'd like to acknowledge the support I have received from family, friends, teachers, employers and galleries. Thank you to everyone who has bought an artwork, hammered a nail, written some code, or dived into goop for my practice. Special thank you to Mum and Dad, who supported my decision to leave high school and study Visual Art at TAFE.
